Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn has been an American actress for film as well as stage since the late 1970s. She has been a professional actor for 27 years. She first appeared on the stage in the production The Big Funk (John Patrick Shanley) Off-Broadway. In The Perfect Tribute, she was given her first TV appearance the following year. Her career launched when she was cast for a part in Basic Instinct. In The Firm, she played the leading female character for the first time. She was cast opposite Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. Over the course of the 90s Gwyneth collaborated with Hugh Grant on Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews for Relative Values. Recenty, she played Dr Alex Blake (a police procedural-crime drama) in Criminal Minds.
